A Legacy of Healing from Two Lands
Aimee Louise Ó hÍceadha descends from the Ó hÍceadha clan, a lineage of hereditary Gaelic physicians who once served the O’Briens, former Kings of Thomond and descendants of Brian Boru.
Known as the “descendants of the healer,” the Ó hÍceadha were especially renowned for early neurosurgical practices, including trepanning and the delicate repair of skull fractures using silver plates.
Despite their advanced knowledge, they faced persistent hardship, climate-fostering bacteria, recurring famines, and political conflict.
This healing legacy stretches back over 1,600 years, to Cormac Colchin, son of Cathan Fionn, the 14th King of Munster. His descendants helped found Ireland’s first medical schools, embedding healing into the core of early Celtic culture.
Today, Aimee carries this ancestral wisdom forward, not as nostalgia, but as living knowledge. As a seventh-generation Irish-Australian, she was raised among bushland, coastline, and desert. Her years in remote communities deepened her connection to land-based healing, slow ritual, and the botanical intelligence of Australian native plants.
Through Nala Native, she brings together two worlds, Irish herbal tradition, carried through blood and memory, and Australian plant medicine, learned through landscape and presence. The result is earth-aligned skincare that is gentle, effective, and rooted in earth, lineage, and integrity.
